Mind maps are a fantastic way to 'brain dump' and organise information. Below is a pic of my map created for a presentation (and subsequent essay) about Central Tendency and the usefulness of teaching about the concept for use in the real world.
Anyways, this map is nil on visuals and high on rambling ~:-) And I didn't use most of the map in my final presentation and essay (which I will post at a later date). However, it really helped to get information and ideas out of my head and manifested in some form externally. And it was incredibly useful to identity my gaps in knowledge, as well as how to link concepts. Overall, I found the activity of mental-to-physical Tetris a useful way to play with different concepts to better communicate what I wanted to achieve an assessment goal.
